Summer Newsletter

Club News

Well I hope everyone is enjoying their summer holidays although , I think you would all agree, we could do with a little less rain!!

Anyway, as you are all aware, the Club is due to resume the week commencing Monday 20^th August, and we look forward to everyone returning.

In order for us to keep our records straight though, we need everyone who is returning to the Club in August to fill out a new membership form, and also a new consent form for outings and photographs etc. I have enclosed the forms in this newsletter, and would appreciate it if you could fill it out and return as soon as possible.

We are also operating a new system with membership fees, to try and save time on Club nights. We would really appreciate it, if membership fees could be paid up front although, we do understand that not everyone is in a position to do this. I have enclosed a fees sheet for everyone, and fees can either be paid directly into the Club’s account by yourselves, in which case you need to sign the declaration on the fee form, or you can pay in advance by cheque. We will be issuing everyone with a fee card shortly.

Holidays

The Club is open during term time only, and therefore the following holidays will apply for this year:

15^th – 19^th October

24 – 4^th January 08

Walking Group

We now have an established walking group, and thoroughly enjoyed or weeks residential down at Innerwick thanks to Steve, who leads the group.

The walking group runs throughout the year, and Steve will let us know shortly what the dates are for autumn.

Programme of Events

We are still to finalise the dates for our autumn programme, but the following are the activities that we are currently setting up:

Fruit tasting session

Personal safety sessions

Drama workshops

Swimming

Christmas Arts & Crafts with the Borders Scrap Store.

Youth Café

This will be opening in the autumn and Leona will be in touch with everyone to let you know the details of this new and exciting venture!

Fundraising

The Club is a registered charity, and East Lothian Council fund the rental of the building and salaries for the Club staff. The Club though has to find money through fundraising for the various activities that we run; equipment; training expenses of staff and volunteers etc. We are therefore eternally grateful to all parents for any help or input they can provide. If anyone has any such ideas, please contact Jackie.

CLUB FEES

The Club currently takes £2.50 per night for fees, and these are payable even when a young person is off the Club.

Club fees can be paid in several ways, which are detailed below:
